Rolling-Wave Planning

Practice Overview

Rolling-wave planning means that you split your roadmap in several parts, often three, that you call for example, Now/Current, Next/Soon and Later/Future or Near-Term, Mid-Term and Long-Term.

The first segment usually covers the next one to four weeks, the second is one to three months out, and the last covers everything else that is at least three months away. (Your timeframes may differ but the principle remains the same.)

(This practice is under development and is part of the book Startup, Scaleup, Screwup.)
